The winners of the International School Awards 2024 were announced during a community exclusive event within the ISC Community on Wednesday 24th of January.
Adjustment to the awards criteria meant that, this year, each school was limited to submitting only one application. A fantastic total of 245 applications poured in from international schools worldwide, including schools in Malaysia, India, the United States, the Seychelles and Uganda, alongside many others.
Of these 245 applications, this year we were delighted to announce 14 winners, selected by an independent judging panel of 10 international education experts.
Transforming the International School Awards
The International School Awards have undergone a transformative process this year, shifting from isolated award categories to a comprehensive and holistic evaluation of the submitted initiatives. As a result, stand-alone categories are no longer and applications this year have been assessed within tuition fee brackets, providing each school with the equal opportunity to shine. These initiatives are firmly rooted in principles of multicultural understanding, diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice, along with the integration of one or more of the (SDGs).

Winners of Category A
Category A, partnered with , represents international schools charging tuition fees identified as low within their country.
The five winners of this category are:
- DPS International in Gurugram, India won an International School Award for its Student Task Force initiative, a student-led initiative integrating academic and co-curricular experiences to create a holistic community.
- Kopila Valley School in Nepal received recognition for implementing an initiative to work towards ensuring food security for its school community.
- Osaka YMCA International School in Japan has been recognised for pioneering a whole-school project that works towards providing food for a homeless shelter.
- International School Seychelles has been recognised for its commitment to environmental stewardship, showcased through its initiative contributing to the restoration and regeneration of wetland areas within both the school premises and the broader local community.
- Vilnius Private Gymnasium (VPG) in Lithuania has won an International School Award for its interactive VPG Citizenship initiative using experiential learning to cultivate patriotism and civic responsibility among its students.
Winners of Category B
Partnered with , Category B represents international schools charging tuition fees identified as average within their country.
The four winners of this category are:
- Acorns International School in Uganda has won an International School Award for implementing the school鈥檚 annual 鈥楪lobal Village鈥 Event, designed to support students鈥 development and foster global citizenship and international mindedness.
- Prince of Wales Island International School (POWIIS) located in Penang, Malaysia, has received recognition for implementing the 鈥楶OWIIS Project鈥. This initiative aims to create transformative experiences for both students and the wider community by imparting knowledge, raising awareness and influencing progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals.
- Regents International School Pattaya in Thailand has been recognised for its student-led initiative known as the 鈥楥ulture Club鈥, which involves empowering students to take on leadership roles in areas that hold significance for themselves, their peers and the wider community.
- SALT International School in the Republic of Korea has been awarded for its 鈥楲ove Rwanda鈥 initiative. Through immersive service-learning experiences, students develop a deep appreciation for the challenges of poverty, education and inequality around the world.
Winners of Category C
Category C, partnered with , includes international schools charging tuition fees identified as high within their country.
The five winners of this category are:
- British Vietnamese International School Hanoi, has won an International School Award for its community service programme project working with residents of the Floating Village in Hanoi.
- Lincoln Community School in Ghana has been recognised for hosting its inaugural student-led conference, West African International Schools Activities League Model United Nations. Over 150 students took part taking on various roles, providing students with invaluable opportunities for developing leadership and collaboration skills.
- Singapore Cambodia International Academy in Phnom Penh has been recognised for its service-learning initiative working in conjunction with NGO, Love Cambodia, where students from the school raise money selling food and crafts before using this to fund sanitation work in a local village.
- St Andrews International School Bangkok won an award for its creative initiative, the 鈥楨lephant Project,鈥 working in collaboration with GTAEF (Golden Triangle Asian Elephant Foundation), providing a comprehensive educational experience whilst raising awareness about elephant conservation.
- UWC Thailand, who have received recognition for implementing 鈥楾he Outdoor Experiential Education Programme,鈥 which sees students connect with nature and enhance their academic learning through real-world applications.
