小蓝视频 has conducted research into current recruitment and CPD practice within international schools, identifying shifts within the market and exploring the factors influencing change. Let鈥檚 highlight some of the key findings:
Recruitment trends in international schools
Our research听shows听that international schools are increasingly considering attributes such as proficiency in using technology to support learning and听丑颈驳丑听emotional intelligence (EQ).鈥In fact, according to recruiters surveyed,听the international school teacher profile seems to be evolving to include new desirable attributes.听
International schools are starting to use innovative practices to recruit from a more diverse talent pool and create new recruitment pathways. Some emphasise professional learning to encourage staff retention.
87.5% of recruitment agencies surveyed noticed international schools began their recruitment process earlier in the school year in 2020-21.
Most popular CPD formats in international schools
鈥66% of international schools said they plan to develop the skills of their current teaching staff in the use of education technology to support teaching and learning over the next two years.鈥
Our research emphasises the fact that international schools should support lifelong learning habits for their teachers, just as they do for students.
To听support lifelong learning habits, CPD is being听adapted to better match staff鈥痭eeds, and鈥痵upport their wellbeing.鈥疐ulfilled teachers听with听opportunities to develop their skills听are more likely to keep working with the鈥痠nternational鈥痵chools that support them.鈥听
Our research also shows听that听hybrid CPD is听likely to be听the most popular format听choice听in the future:鈥痗ombing opportunities for face-to-face interactions听along听with听flexible access to content听that鈥檚 delivered听via virtual learning environments.鈥听
Our full research is presented in our latest report Recruitment and CPD in international schools, which also includes听expert听recommendations听that are relevant听for both听international schools听and providers.听
